Album info:
The motto of tenor saxophonist Jürgen Hagenlocher is “preserve and renew”. This captures both his attitude to life and his musical expression. His music is characterized by his respect for the tradition of jazz and the saxophonists John Coltrane and Dexter Gordon, who have significantly influenced his development over the last 22 years.

With “Confusion” – six compositions by Jürgen Hagenlocher, two by guitarist Dano Haider – the band also moves stylistically in modern jazz. The perfectly coordinated quartet is supported on this production by New York trumpeter Alex Sipiagin, a member of the Michael Brecker Quindectet and the Dave Holland Band, among others. His energetic playing traces the clear, intelligent melodic lines and supports the concise sound that Hagenlocher sets with his powerful, melodic ideas.

Dano Haider promotes and supports the “forward drive” of their music with his guitar; Drummer Jörg Eckel impresses with his absolute sovereignty and nonchalance. A special sound element that must be mentioned is the original Hammond B3 organ by Thomas Bauser, whose agile playing "" sometimes emphatically incidental, sometimes challengingly funky "" always knows how to carry the entire band along"
