Album info:
The SVEN GöTZ QUARTETT is a German-Swedish project. The two Swedish musicians Mattias Grönroos (Gothenburg) and Tommy Holmgren (Nässjö) are among the leading representatives of the new Scandinavian jazz scene. They worked with John Taylor and Ulf Wakenius, among others. Together with the Stuttgart guitarist Sven Götz, whose compositions of contemporary European jazz “awakens pictorial associations with vast Nordic landscapes”, they formed a chamber music jazz trio.

In the summer of 2005, the SVEN GöTZ TRIO toured Sweden for the first time and was expanded for a subsequent concert series in Germany in autumn 2005 by the saxophonist and jazz prize winner of the state of Baden-Württemberg, Ekkehard Rössle. His expressive and at the same time lyrical playing style outstandingly complements the trio's ability to interpret music. In 2007 there was a summer tour in Sweden and a series of concerts in Germany in the fall.

The now available CD »Swedish Reflections« is a result of this intensive collaboration, through many concerts and the joint development of our own musical ideas. The two concert recordings on the CD were published in the »German Book«, the Nil Edition's German Realbook.
